May?!

Ok, ok....here I am. After several requests I am updating my blog. I'm sorry to keep my faithful readers wondering and guessing. I've been rather busy lately and I apologize for not updating sooner!

Ok, so what has happened in the last month....let's see....April Vacation! For those that were there, we had a BLAST! Lots of time in the saddle, learning about the Farrier and what he does, as well as a trip to Dunkin Donuts were some of the highlights! ALL of our campers did a great job and as usual, the Show Off went well! Parents and friends were on hand to witness everyone's big and little accomplishments! Well done!

The following week began our after school lesson program with the Portland schools. We have 7 riders and they have all been doing a great job! We have Veronica, Emma, Max, Brickley, Natasha, Molly and Bethany joining us and it's wonderful to see the beginners learn something new and the more intermediate riders enhance their skills. :)

In case anyone is wondering about Missy, I will let you know her progress. She has been getting better and better. She really enjoys being out of the ring, and is more cooperative when we are in the ring. Every ride has been different and for her, that is the key. I have gone into a pasture and done some w/t/c and although she is fast (one of her ways to avoid working), she is moving which is more than I can say for a month ago! I have also taken her up Canter Hill a few times and of course, like the other ponies, she has loved that, too. By the summer camp season, a few advanced riders may get the chance to ride her if she continues on her good stretch. I'm hoping by then we can go into the ring all the time and have her nice and slow.

Saturday May 17th we said goodbye to Red. Redman has gone to his new home in Raymond and we hope he will be very happy there. We will certainly miss him. But on a happy note, Tex has come back to us! I personally am looking forward to working with him again and I know my students have missed him.

Wow....this is a book! Enjoy your last few weeks in school and get ready for some serious riding this summer!!!

Until next time....
