Happy Holidays!

Ok, so I'm a day late, but better late than never, right? I hope you all had a great holiday!

I got Missy and I some things at the tack store, thanks to my nice gift certificate that I got for Christmas. I had a blast at the store and it didn't take me long to spend the certificate. I've decided her color is going to be black. Therefore, I got her some black polos, a halter and a saddle pad. I also got her a new bit and am getting a bridle, too. Unfortunately, my saddle and bridle are brown, but hopefully they won't be too hideous. At any rate, I plan on putting the halter on her tomorrow and perhaps will take a picture of her in it. I found the camera - or at least, my hubby told me where it was - so I can take and post pics. I can't wait to see her in all the stuff!!

As nice as the rest has been it will be good to get back to work on Monday. Of course the kids don't go back to school until the following Monday, but I get a bit of a reprieve at the barn. At least the horses won't argue with me!

Hope to see you all soon!

Here We Go Again....

It's snowing again. I suppose it's a good thing, given that Christmas is next week, but getting the horses outside (and of course, back in again) is a little more difficult with the mountains of snow to plow through. hmmm....speaking of plows....maybe we could hitch Whinnie to something and she could help us out that way.....I'll have to talk to Bill and Klara about that one.

The horses are slowly getting used to the winter barn...emphasis on SLOWLY. They have all had their temper tantrums at one point or another, but are beginning to get the hang of it.

I have big plans for Jelly. She doesn't know it yet, but I am going to start working her in the round pen on days when I can. I have learned some more natural horsemanship/ground training tricks that she (well, all the ponies, really) could use. Perhaps when riding season is back in full swing, she will be a bit better behaved.

Missy is going to have some round pen work, too, when I can hack it. For the most part, though, I think her lessons have also taken a break. When the weather/footing cooperate, maybe she and I will take some walks up and down the driveway. Our serious training will start again in the spring.

That's all for now....enjoy the snow!

Let It Snow!

Oh, the weather outside is frightful.....

Yes, here we are in the beginnings of winter and the horses have enjoyed getting outside to run and play. I have stopped to watch Antje, Missy and Zef in the round pen on occasion and they make me laugh. I love it when they really get going and they are all bucking and playing.

The winter barn is finished and in service. THANK YOU BILL!!!! It makes me happy to know that the ponies are inside during the night and in inclement weather.

I'm not sure if you can post pics on here or not, but if you can, I will be sure to post some pics of the ponies.

The holiday party went off well! Lots of laughter, fun, and food! Thank you to everyone who brought something. It was all delicious. And thank you to Klara and Bill for hosting!

Have a very Merry Christmas!!!
